We maintain standards throughout the harvest and selection process. Whether delivered in your CSA box or picked up at the farmers’ market, we make sure that all your vegetables are fresh, clean and ready for the table.
We grow a wide range of new and heirloom varieties of vegetables on the farm.
We grow all the produce on the farm using organic and ecological methods. Not only does this mean we don’t use any synthetic, herbicides, fungicides and pesticides, it also means we have a strong focus on building soil structure and fertility and increasing the natural habitat and biodiversity on the farm. As organic farmers we use a wide array of tools and methods to deal with pests, disease, and weeds. Some of these methods and tools include:
- Cover cropping
- Crop rotation
- Trap crops
- Row cover
- Straw mulch
- Plastic mulch
- Hand weeding
- Green manures
- And lots and lots of compost!
Having natural buffer strips and creating windbreaks and habitat for beneficial insects and pollinators is also important to our farm.
