In Your Bin Sept. 15th: Dragon’s Tongue!
This week you will find in your bin a bush bean known as Dragon’s Tongue a: “unique, flashy heirloom”. We are always introducing new varieties of vegetables to diversify and in that way increase our capacity to withstand an everchanging climate. Heirloom varieties have been around long enough to grow in various conditions and may have a hardiness we need. They are tender, sweet, and good in salads or cooked. Use them as you would use the standard green been. ( Purple disappears upon cooking) . We often snack on them raw when we are at the market!
