In Your Bin June 30th: Sharing the Harvest!
A bountiful harvest this week! New from our fields this week are beets, napa cabbage, peas and topping up with carrots and cucumber from our good friends at Zephyr Organics and strawberries from Springview Farm. When local farmers can work together and support one another by sharing our surplus, farmers can steer clear of large wholesalers whose first interest is definitely not the farmers who are growing the food for them though it is common to use that in their advertising!
Know your farmer, know your food – it really is that simple!
In Your Bin:
Regular Share: Cilantro, Carrots, Peas, Scapes, Cucumber, Beets, Napa Cabbage, Strawberries, Head Lettuce
Large Share: Regular Plus Spicy Salad, Radishes, Pak Choi, Broccoli, Kale
